Religious School
Ellen Shifrin, Educational Director
The Temple Hillel Religious School is a five year school, meeting three days a week for a total of six hours a week. Our objective is to construct a foundation of Jewish experience, knowledge and skill upon which a satisfying, competent Jewish life can be built. Our goal is to create a caring community in which children and parents find that they are stimulated to learn and live as Jews.
Member’s children who are in the third grade of public school are required to enter the Aleph Religious School class.
Within the five years, the students will have a curriculum which includes Hebrew and prayer, Bible, customs and holidays, Israel and history, and Jewish values.
Our well-integrated program places a special emphasis on Jewish life and its values. We supplement the curriculum with family education programs for each grade and with grade appropriate Shabbat service participation. Junior Congregation is also an integral part of our Religious School program.
